getting made fun of for something always sucks. don’t make fun of people for what they look like, ever. but also realize there’s a difference between being made fun of and being discriminated against and systems of power and oppression need to be dismantled.

people get teased for being pale all the time. how many times have i been called casper or told i’d be attractive if i got a tan? a million. and yet colorism against dark skinned people is a million times worse bc of the entrenched systems of oppression.

dark skinned people don’t see themselves represented in media, are discriminated against in employment, housing, and by doctors, have a hard time finding makeup and tattoos that work for them, and in many places are encouraged to BLEACH their skin.
