NIALL HORAN’S sarcasm 101: from the definition of performance to banana bread.

A NECESSARY THREAD.

Hey! How are you? I’m Laura, nice to meet you. We need to talk today.

I’ve seen so many people ranting and dragging the king of performance Niall Horan, and I’m so tired of it.

In order for you to understand what “performance” it’s about, you need to watch this video from @tercosmicqueen, she will explain it better than me.

But what is performance?

@tercosmicqueen explained in her video that “it consist of channeling one single emotion in the most intense way possible in order to make a point, without nuances and disclaimers”

This means that you take an idea till the end, to be fully committed while simultaneously feeling detached to it.

What does that mean?... I’ll use an example.

Say that you have a group of friends and family that support you and love you unconditionally. You obviously feel thankful and happy for having them.

BUT sometimes when you feel misunderstood and lonely you say “I feel so sad, I don’t have any friends”

Does that mean that you are dishonest?
Does that means that you are fake?

EXACTLY, NO.

You are channeling an emotion and taking it till the end while being detached from that idea because you love your group of people.

THE PERFORMANCE DOES NOT PROCEDE FROM CYNICISM.

THE PERFORMANCE IS HONEST, BUT IT’S NOT LITERAL.

We as humans are complex, we have so much impulses and feelings, you can channel anyone of those without being dishonest and you can also contradict yourself, because THEY LIVE INSIDE YOU, ALL OF THEM. THEY ARE IMPORTANT.

Maybe a day you feel really “performatic” because something made you feel that way, but the next day you do not connect with that feeling anymore

BECAUSE IN ORDER TO MAKE A PERFORMANCE YOU NEED TO BE DETACHED FROM ALL OF THE IDEAS.

@tercosmicqueen says that there are 2 planes in this live. The plane of reality where the pain, suffering and the real problems happens and there is the plane of fantasy.

The performance takes place on the plane of fantasy, because if you take it to the other plane, you’ll suffer a lot, nothing will make sense, everything will offend and angry you.

I remember when in an Instagram live , Damien Rice song “Amie” started to play and Niall stood there quiet and then you all started to ask, “NIALL ARE YOU SAD?”

OF COURSE, HE WAS SAD. He was channeling the feeling of sadness and nostalgia in that moment, but as soon as the song stopped, he concluded the performance and that’s why he said that he wasn’t sad or hurt.

This is another example of performance Niall did. It doesn’t need explanation.

But then, on an Instagram live he said that it was shit. He wasn’t being dishonest; he wasn’t being rude.

He just channeled the feeling of loving some aspects of the show one day and the other day he felt like it was a shit show.

Even his songs are “performatic”. He says that each song reflects feelings through a breakup. That’s why the album it’s called “Heartbreak weather”.

What we conclude with all of this?

We are complex. In our heads have an amazing world of emotions, impulses and feelings that cannot be repressed. We have the right to change our thoughts, we have the right of being contradicting, we have the right to express ourselves.
