what's been helping me heal and feel better in this mental space/point of my life (22yo)/quarentine have been to find other people who i resonate with and have gone thru the things i'm going through. i've especially been enjoying so much work from teenage girls & women alike.
maybe it's just because i'm a cap-leo but I just thrive on finding people's art to relate with and love because it makes me feel less alone and empowered in my very ostracizing brain...... anyways I'm going to share

Things That Make Me Feel Better thread:
Megan Thee Stallion (Hot Girl Coach)
she became me and my sisters' fave instantly as quarantine began and got us dancing every time she played. watch her interviews bc I die laughing & completely charmed by her. her lyrics brighten my day.

Rina Sawayama
when SAWAYAMA came out i wasn't prepared. i am always looking out for portfolios that I wish were my own and she has taken the cake. i resonate with her music so much. never felt so seen in my life & packaged so masterfully thru and thru. 1/2

Rina's lyrics and the production of her songs are 10/10. I can relate to her lyrics without looking it up because I just Get It.
she's an older sister to me. i feel very much celebrated, normal and less alone because of her. fave.

Rookie Mag
i found out this magazine my junior year of hs and it brings back all the feels. a magazine dedicated to teenagers founded by tavi gevinson at age 15 in 2011. an online community abt art, pop culture, fashion, social issues & feminism. wow. 1/3 https://www.rookiemag.com/
although Rookie is no longer active, it's still such a great resource for so many things. i sometimes forget how insightful we were as teens and how much it still applies beyond those few years. 2/3
Amanda Elimian (amandabb)
