These highly publicized cases were denied by the Obama Administration 2 consecutive terms as President. Obama had Democratic control of all Branches of Government for his 1st 2 yrs, his priority never addressed issues that were the most oppressive for Blacks in America!
In less than 2 yrs as President, Trump pushed for criminal justice reform by passing the 1st Step Act, which targeted the unfair sentencing laws instituted by the Bill Clinton 1994 Crime Bill. The 1st Step Act benefited 91% of the total inmates released who were Black Americans!
It’s hard to imagine that Trump, not Obama, would pass the most comprehensive criminal justice reform bill in decades.
