Joe Biden out here determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. That’s why they been keeping him in all quarantine. He rode to candidacy on the Black vote without offering Black people a damn thing and his entitlement is showing. I’m tired. (We deserve better, Lord.)

And before you Biden stans come over here, I vote and I will vote in November for the Dem nominee. Because Black women in the aggregate always handle business where this is concerned.

But like everybody with good sense, I’m annoyed as shit at the way Biden benefits from a Black vote he hasn’t earned, when there were finally in history candidates who foregrounded issues relevant to Black voters.

And I will say that if Biden picks a damn centrist so he can win the Midwest it will be one more reminder of how much he *doesnt* value the Black vote.

Also: The thing that unites many white liberals with Trump supporters is that all of them want to get back to a white dominant status quo. Biden-liberals want that status quo to be left of center, and Trump supporters want it to be 1950. But all of it secures white dominance.

And for those of you wondering about the Black folks like Clyburn that ride for Biden, they won’t a model of American politics that is familiar despite its many many problems. And that model is still one of ‘white male dominance.’

The only way Biden smooths this ish out is to select a Black woman VP. I think that person should be Abrams. Period. But whomever he picks, it better not be some centrist designed to appeal to middle of the road white voters. They are not the future.

Joe thinks he can invoke Black vernacular to say ish like he did because he thinks he has a Barack pass (like a bougie version of a hood pass) but he doesn’t cuz that thing doesn’t exist. Earn our votes by giving AF about our issues and governing in a progressive way. Period.
