I got an interesting DM today that I get fairly often. At the person who sent this one, I'm not singling you out but just using this as an example and not opening the DM because there is a reason which I'll explain. (1/?)

So, you want to be a friend.

First of all, I don't mind making new friends. But I don't like being asked to be a friend. I personally don't like to make connections that way. (2/?)

I like them to happen more naturally thru interactions that I create for people to respond to me in such as my videos, livestreams or just things I tweet about. (3/?)

Because of how DMs work, it's happened too often when allowing DMs from strangers that they take advantage of having an open channel to me to overshare or ask questions too personal that make me really uncomfortable. Some have even gotten upset if I don't respond quickly. (4/?)

I also just don't like being in a private conversation with a stranger. Often I feel forced into pretending to be interested in the conversation lol. It just takes too much energy and a waste of everyone's time. (5/?)

So I'm sorry I won't open the DM. I just don't trust people anymore. Just get to know me thru tweets or visit streams like I mentioned. My discord server is a great place too. I've made plenty of friends thru people who were fans this way and it just feels safer and stress-free.
