Ight so imma kinda talk about what happened in last noghts chapter with Luffy and Zoro. Why they were not able to dodge nor block an attack from Apoo. This is a theory that comes from @noxi_pm and its the only thing that makes sense to me.
So starting with what happened in #OnePiece980 Both Zoro and Luffy took attacks from apoo that they couldnt seem to dodge or defend against and that begs the question at this point why are they getting hit like this from people like Apoo?
So the answer that I agree is most likely the strength of his devil fruit.
He initially says "is the music reaching you?" Then If you look in the last panel in this tweet Apoo says "if you can hear me stay tuned...Marine Admiral Kizaru" Singling him out.

He then uses "Scratch" and it causes a cut like attack similar to a sword. Simple yet effective to slice off Kizarus arm. Look familar?

" and causes a significant explosion in the middle of Kizarus body. This looks familar too right?

Now one thing to keep in mind is notice that he did not attack Luffy and Zoro simultaneously. He had to land Zoros attack first then hit Luffy with his immediately after. Directing his attacks at them directly just like Kizaru after playing his music.
Why is this significant? Well its proves that Apoos attacks are not AOE (area of effect) its a direct hit within a range. 2 different attacks on 2 different people. The same 2 attacks he landed on an admiral PRE TS. The explanation? Cause they could hear his music.
If you can hear his music you are susceptible to an attack BUT only if he so chooses to hit you. This is why he hit Kizaru and not Drake, Kuma or Hawkins. Why he hit Zoro but not Luffy and vice versa.
Further evidence of this is the end of the chapter with Kid. Kid was in the range of Apoo but was able to attack before he could direct an attack on him because apoo was not prepared and coukdnt attack him.
Now these attacks did land on Kizaru, Luffy and Zoro but similar to Saboady Kizaru tanked the first attack (zoro did it better tho 
) but the second one did incapacitate him for 1 page or so while his body reconnected. Just like Luffy was stunned/KO for a page or so.

All this to say Apoo is not someone we should take lightly and is a genuine threat that the OP fandom underestimated including myself. Thanks for reading the thread let me know your guys thoughts.
