i always think about people getting angry about how jc treated wwx but they seem to forget that he had no idea about what wwx went through bc he never told him. he didn’t know about the golden core, or why wwx had to pick up demonic cultivation.
how do you expect him to react, to his brother, someone he loved and trusted the most, in his eyes fall from grace? someone who was supposed to be his right hand for the rest of their lives? and to then find out that the core inside of him was his brother’s. like???
notice how wwx never blamed jc for his feelings? jc had every right to feel betrayed and hurt by wwx’s actions. and wwx never blamed him for it.
and let me remind you the whole reason jc was captured by the wen’s was to protect wwx. if he didn’t do that, wwx wouldve been taken, and who knows what could’ve happened. jc wouldn’t let that happen, so he sacrificed himself for wwx in that moment.
jc loved wwx. he wanted him to be by his side forever. he tried his hardest to keep him by his side until the very end. don’t you forget the very last two episodes, where jc finally voices how he felt to wwx in the temple, and how he cried wishing him to take care.
TLDR; jiang cheng and wei wuxian siblings for life
AH to add on. like did jc do questionable things?? very much so but he’s got so much going on w him that it’s hard to completely write him off like you can w xue yang. it’s easy to be like “i hate this bitch” w him but w jc???? there’s a wall to cross over
the inferiority complex, his parents, his love for his siblings, his own beliefs, pressures of sect leader at such a young age, his temper. like how do you expect him to react in these situations??
and before anyone says it: you don’t have to like jiang cheng to understand his character
