As homelessness professionals we know that @mhclg street count figures are not a true reflection of the numbers of people sleeping rough on our streets: and do not consider the vulnerably housed and hidden homeless in the UK. However the figures are a useful comparative data set.
In @cityoflondon a high of 68 was registered in November 2019. This reduced to counts numbering around 50 throughout 2019 with the national count totalling 41 in November 2019. In January 2020 it rose again slightly to 45.
Mid-April, 3 weeks into #COVIDー19 lockdown, 28 people were counted rough sleeping in the square mile on a night. Last night the number was 13. This represents a concerted effort from @StMungos @cityoflondon & partners to accommodate all sleeping out. There can be #NoGoingBack
