Maybe it’s different for Muslims. We want our masjid’s to open, but God is closer to us than our jugular vein - so the space - while important - doesn’t define our faith.
It is essential for us to obey the will of our creator and his messenger, who told us we have to look out for the most vulnerable among us. And if that requires sacrifice, so be it. Also, the lord looks at your intentions.
Did you intend to pray itikaf in the masjid this year? If you did and god knows this, you will be given the reward of actually literally having prayed in the masjid. Subhanallah. And to think I thought my faith was “too hard.”
The worst of humanity are oppressors, those who hoard wealth, don’t give to the needy of what god has given them, prevent others from following god’s path, are afraid to share and don’t take care of the vulnerable.
I mean, if that doesn’t sound like the entire concept of a certain nation’s government...
I didn’t like how this thread ended too cynical. I don’t feel that way about my brothers and sisters in humanity. I think the leaders of this country have a lot to atone for and I hope they do, but the rest of us can still be good to each other.
