As we celebrate the opening of @cityofsandusky #JacksonStreetPier, we thought it would be fun to remind everyone that the transformation started with a plan. Our team talked with hundreds of people & listened to ALL voices, including a floating mtg! #goodtime1
Our 1st Public Open House was packed & we asked how people would want to re-imagine and use #JackStreetPier. Cold & warm weather activities, types of amenities & design sketches were all shared. @cityofsandusky helped ensure the room was full of diversity & energy!
Throughout the #JacksonStreetPier design process, our team learned A LOT. Residents & friends shared their love of the pier & outlined what could be possible. We learned if the design did 4 main things, it would be successful for #enjoyingJSP:
2nd Community Open House was even MORE packed with energy. We shared ideas, asking for #JacksonStreetPier preferences.
We believe great community engagement is paramount to successful designs. #JacksonStreetPier meetings were full of people sharing ideas. Good thing @SanduskyState is such a great partner and opened up their space for us! Over 200 people shared ideas at multiple stations!
For #JacksonStreetPier, nobody does it like the folks in @cityofsandusky! Talented folks, of all ages shared ideas - some wanted more green space, others wanted more parking, some wanted more events - ALL wanted a great place...and swings by the water!
