To English followers, I apologize for many Japanese posts over the last three days. There was a debate about the pros and cons of calling heterosexual shipping "NL(normal love)" in Japanese fandom. If I can afford it, I will share it with you guys :)
In JPN fandom, heterosexual, gay, and lesbian shipping is called NL(normal love), BL(boys love), and GL(girls love). But for more than a decade, the discriminatory nature of the word NL has been debated.
HL(Hetero Love), BG(Boy and Girl) were proposed as alternatives, and were spreading on a small scale. However, their use has long been uncommon.
There have been many discussions so far, and I participated. But we have been crushed by these objections: "Don't bring the actual problem of discrimination into fiction." "Make an alternative." "N is not normal, but neutral." "Political Correctness Police."
"No offense." "classification, not discrimination." "Are you a leader of sexual minorities?" "The ability to reproduce is biologically normal" "You just hate heterosexuality" "I don't like your tone" "What about your innocence? " And ...more.
However, one day a turning point came.
Someone posted BL with an NL tag, which triggered the huge discussion. They described her actions as "terrorism". But many have begun to say, "It's discrimination that NL contains only heterosexuality." The discussion lasted 3 days.
They say "This is an NL tag, not a place to post a BL. If you don't follow the rules, it's considered as an attack."

I don't know anything about the "terrorist", but I think she probably wanted to tell everyone that "BL is normal too."
They said “If you look for NL and accidentally look at BL, you will die."

I said "No. You don't die just by looking at BL. Stop stupid exaggerations. Think about how many people have actually died from heteronormativity and homophobia."
them: Suddenly I was attacked, so I can only frighten. There is nothing wrong with loving NL.

me: I'm not criticizing heterosexual shipping. I'm criticizing YOU. You who do not stop discrimination, who call heterosexuality NL. You are being protested, not attacked.
This is the worst anonymous message from an opponent.

"BL and GL aren't normal. Rotten feminists and angry sexual minorities only say unrealistic things. You just want to complain. You're confusing the order of the fandom. It's annoying. "

They: You guys can't empathize in such a radical way. You should argue more pacifically.

We have been insistent "pacifically" for ten years, but they didn't listen. This time, at least we were able to get them into the discussion.
Japanese fandom has many other conservative rules. I don't know what will happen in the future, but it is a fact that the situation has made great strides. We will continue to fight. Thank you for reading this far! :)
And thank you for all the supportive comments. I am very encouraged!
海外にもノンケラブとかいう寝言いう人いるんだ

Well then, can you correct all NL users' recognition and then come on again? Because most people's perception is normal love. The counterargument has already been sophistry here. By the way, I am Japanese ;)

"It is really a negative legacy of Japanese fandom to call heterosexual shipping NL (normal love). Let's stop. Be aware that it is violence to define what is normal and what is not normal."

"Certainly, it wasn't your fault to think that "NL" was an ordinary word and there was no discrimination.

But if you choose to stay in the position of "this is not a problem" in the future, that is your discriminatory and negligent, So "

"Why can't they just say, "Oh, I know what NL can mean. I'll stop." Why do they say a quibble to justify NL?

I think it's because they can't accept the fact that they were discriminating. And I could be like them one day."

I think the main cause of this conflict was that the "terrorist" posted was BL. In other words, she was Fujoshi(腐女子=Rotten girl). Fujoshi means A woman who likes BL. Many NL users were angry that Fujosi invaded the territory.
In general, BL and Fujoshi are segregated in their own communities and suffer slander if they violate zoning. Because many people think BL is unpleasant.

This is also why many people blamed the "terrorist" and emphasized the importance of segregation.
They described this as "the war between NL users and Fujoshi(BL lover)". But I am confused. I'm Fujosi (I hate this name), but I eat GL and HL as well as BL lmao
Oh, almost forgot. These are all discussions that took place in the fandom of female fans. I don't know what a male fandom looks like, but it seems much more conservative than us. At least, the possibility of such a debate is hopeless.
The majority of Japanese male anime fans seem to be conservative. They are mostly insel with misoginny, racism and homophobia. They will hate "political collectivity police" like me lmao
To English followers: Thank you for all the comments, I can't reply but I'm encouraged to read them. And thank you for following me. However, I rarely tweet in English and mostly talk about otaku shit. sorry😂
Oh, Hey, I just saw a discriminatory meme that is often used among Japanese male otakus. Many of them consider Japan to be a country free of political correctness.
