i went from being among the top of my high school class and straight A’s freshman year of college to struggling to even pass certain classes at UT. imposter syndrome was SO REAL to me. i felt like all of my peers were smarter than me, and that i didn’t deserve to be here.

i was convinced that if i didn’t have a 3.0, if i wasn’t attending EVERY single recruiting and networking event available to me, if i wasn’t more active in business orgs, that i wouldn’t be as successful as my classmates.

i love marketing and what i’ve learned, but i just happened to find my place and my community at UT elsewhere. and that’s okay. i wasn’t the “typical” mccombs student who wore suits all the time (& quite frankly, theres many of us who don’t fit into that bubble).

& i’m happy with how my college experience turned out. i didn’t follow the same path as many business students, but still ended up like everyone else: landing a job in my field.

your college experience is what YOU make out of it; don’t spend 4 years trying to please others.
