me watching the ‘secret kenobi child’ tweets pass on my tl and telling myself to keep my mouth shut:
not to be Controversial
but it’d be good for rey kenobi IF WE’D GOTTEN REY KENOBI but puts a real nasty taste in my mouth otherwise bc of the implications there

&i'm saying this because it does obi-wan &satine both pretty damn dirty if it's actually canon
you have option a: where satine never tells him about his son, even after him explicitly telling her he would have left the jedi order for her, even as she's dying in his arms--nothing.

and that option robs obi-wan of being a father by omission--and then has him off on tattooine for years without ever knowing he's got a child of his own. plus the fact that satine finds out obi-wan would have been there for her and their kid and just. never says a word? :/
or option b: in which obi-wan KNOWS he has a son and just...........willingly chooses to do nothing about it?? tells satine to hide it??? and then even post-66 still fucks off to tattooine to go help watch over ANOTHER MAN'S SON and still totally forgets about his own??
idk man i'd be fine with the first option but even then that's just sad as fuck :/
&i KNOW this all seems biased coming from someone with my handle but if i didn't have this display it'd be different.
i might not care much for satine as a character but her relationship with obi-wan and his love for her is such a huge integral part of his character & development

you can't ignore that. it's part of who he is, it's a HUGE part of who he is, and this idea of him having a secret kid is....yeah it's ~dramatic~ and serves a future narrative (that we never even got) but like...the cost feels higher than it should, here.
