As a free citizen in open & very busy coastal Georgia, I was happily shopping for my baby girl's celebration next week, 2020 graduate, while she was volunteering at the food pantry, as she's done for 3 years. It's very hot today, yet there she was, smiling & helping.

2) Husband and I watched her from a distance without her knowing. An older woman was giving her paperwork to bring inside and file. Our daughter is trusted to be reliable, and it felt good to see her as an asset to others. Then, we pulled away and went shopping for her & wow-

3) Everyone's out today! Sunny and hot, and crazy busy. Many shoppers, some with masks, but most without. I made a game of not letting my feet touch any of the Social Distancing circles. I found exactly what I wanted for her, and I know she'll be surprised and happy. Later, we

4) picked her up from food pantry and she ordered her photo graduation cake that I'd talked about earlier. The lady, who was very friendly and wonderful (making the experience special), spent a lot of time with her, letting daughter choose every single thing about the cake- and

5) then she referred to the cake pictures as "baby" and....

"adult"


First time my daughter has ever been referred to as an adult.
She's still a teenager... whaaaaaaaa!

6) No matter what's going on around us, babies are still growing up. Families are still celebrating milestones. Life goes on. Seasons change.

Nothing can stop us from loving our special people, or choosing to life happily. But- it's much easier when FREE.
