Although evidence is still emerging, we
continue to learn that children appear to have milder illness and may not be transmitting disease to the same degree as adults.
These data will help us to better understand the potential impact of school reopening and establish the framework for getting children back to school and day camps during the summer.
The impact of isolating children on their mental, developmental and behavioral health is significant and we need to recognize this as a society. We also need to accept that this virus will stay with us for a long time and we have to learn how to live with the current situation,
reduce and mitigate risk as much as possible, yet acknowledge that we likely won’t be able to eliminate risk altogether for some time @picardonhealth. Improving our testing and contact tracing capabilities will be a critical components for moving forward @DFisman.
I know we can do it! Let’s ensure that children remain a key priority for all of us @SickKidsNews @DrJFriedman @dreyalcohen
