It demonstrates that she sees the world as race vs race, which is why she never reports on let's say, economic or political struggles in the city of Atlanta, where people of similar complexion are constantly making important political decisions https://twitter.com/olivertraldi/status/1263879820699504643
One time I reported on an apartment in ATL where the AC was broken and rich folks who owned it were dragging their feet, people were passing out from heat . NOI guy showed up at a protest said "This isn't the Caucasian holdin' us back here today. It's people who look like us."
And I was just thinking, how is it important what they look like? Someone owns the apartment building. They either treat the residents right or they don't. Who cares if they were Caucasian or not (they werent). Racial groups aren't the Borg it's not Star Trek.
Now it's still important to tell the story of historic racial discrimination (or contemporary discrimination) but if you just ignore every single political or economic decision that isn't made by a white person you don't get much of the story of modern America.
