99% of our marital disagreements are easily solved when one of us just simply says “I’m sorry, I was wrong”

I’d say we split saying it fairly down the middle, & it’s taken a heck of a lot of humility for us both to learn to say those words

But sometimes it really is that simple
I don’t say that to laud our marital bliss. We disagree on everything from how to load the dishwasher to what volume the tv should be set at, & on larger issues too.

But we are both far happier when we remember this simple truth: I don’t have to win. We are on the same team.
Because we are sometimes just selfish, it’s so easy to forget. We dig in. We stand our ground. We won’t budge.

But when either of us says that, it instantly becomes a chance to compromise & grow.

I said it this morning. And then he loaded the dishwasher.

Marital bliss indeed.
