Parents talk with your children. You may say “I dont know how to approach my children”. Think back to when you were a kid and wanted to talk to your parents but never did
It may be hard to find an appropriate time to talk with your kids about their emotions. I don’t recommend barging into their rooms saying “we need to talk”. Their rooms are their safe place. It’s kind of sacred. Talk to them while driving or getting their help cleaning the yard
To help get your kids to open up, talk about your own experiences when you were their age. Did you ever feel stressed about school? Were you ever bullies? Ever felt angry? Felt sad?
Kids are always watching. They will copy you. Things you do often, kids will see as normal. Also things you never do, kids will see as normal. Create an environment where talking about anything, especially emotions, will be seen as normal
As parents you will do anything to protect your kids. You will try to fix whatever problem there is. Dont try to immediately fix the problem when your kids need to talk. Actively LISTEN first. Understand where they are coming from. Kids need to vent sometimes too
Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. Let them talk themselves out into finding their own solutions. Let them have some sense of control over the situation. After all kids have been listening to what their parents tell them to do their entire lives
Kids feeling like they are alone is what does them in

Im going to stop. Ill just keep on going if I do. What I say comes feom my own experience
