a little disclaimer before we begin:
arguments happen because life is never black and white, humans are complicated
you might not agree with me on what I have to say about this matter, and I respect your views
but I would like to use this chance to express my views on this
right off the bat, I would like to apologise for any subtweeting I did regarding this "spam twoset& #39;s old photos with emojis issue"
*because of word count, I will be referring to it as "the issue" from all tweets onwards
yes, my first tweet was quite aggressive. I will admit that. I used vulgar language, and my tone in general was pretty hostile. because the tweet was my knee jerk reaction to the issue. I still don& #39;t understand why, anyone thought it would be a fun / cool idea
I& #39;ve only been in the fandom for 10 months, and I& #39;ve already witnessed some drama. if you don& #39;t know what drama I& #39;m referring to, good for you because honestly no one benefited from that. it was hurtful to both parties involved. I& #39;& #39;m glad they& #39;re both okay now.
now I want to talk about usage of words on social media.
I& #39;m very careful with what I say. that is basically the reason why I always take ages to reply to dms / tweets / comments. because its so easy to have things go wrong if you don& #39;t use the correct words.
as you said in your story, you didn& #39;t expect anyone to pay any attention, much less imagine that this issue would occur. but either way, spamming people is, well, annoying.
but I& #39;m not going to go deep into that because,, well,, you apologised, and I want to commend you on that.
it& #39;s not easy admitting that you did something wrong to so many people.
I just hope you remember: you have a very big following on instagram. the majority of them might be quite young, and very easy to influence.
please be a good role model to them.
yes, you are technically still a child / teenager yourself, but that doesn& #39;t mean you don& #39;t have any responsibilities.
I& #39;m 19, and basically have no right to lecture you on this, which is why I chose to create a thread instead of a dm
now you might say I just wanted to subtweet you but here& #39;s my logic:
if I had sent you a DM, you would have to acknowledge it. but here, you could just pretend that it never came up on your timeline if you don& #39;t want to address it. and I& #39;m not subtweeting
(at least I hope not can someone tell me if I am I genuinely cannot tell)
will delete this thread (and maybe rewrite it) if I ended up subtweeting subconsciously
moving on to another topic--
also, everyone has the potential to create drama. I& #39;m active in both the instagram and the twitter community, I& #39;ve seen drama flare up everywhere. and I& #39;ve also seen said dramas get resolved because that& #39;s what this community is about--
--supporting each other, and just being wholesome in general. I hope that we all remember that we are, in a way, a family. and family doesn& #39;t tear each other apart. we support each other, and learn together from our mistakes.
there are definitely divides. the Chinese and English community divide; instagram and twitter community divide are the two largest ones. I& #39;ve seen twosetters working hard to breach that divide, and make us all more connected. please don& #39;t let their efforts to waste.
I went off track here, but in conclusion:
I am sorry if I did anything that overstepped boundaries today (ie subtweeting, making this thread)
and we& #39;ll let this go.
the comments have been reported, and we& #39;ve all made our point here
thank you for coming to my TED talk.
