I went on a now-redacted rant this morning about Rebeller. It started as a joke and turned into a lot of anger and frustration about unnecessary negativity in the name of "rebellion". After they screengrabbed my tweet, I offered to discuss it with the site's EIC. <1/4>
He said there was nothing to discuss, so I reached out to his boss. We spoke about industry topics for over an hour, and how these discussions absolutely should be happening. It was refreshing to speak to someone who I might differ with politically, but can find bonds with. <2/4>
The call ended with both of us wishing each other a good day, and a promise that civil conversation is and always should be an option. That is what we always need to strive for. Everyone needs to talk. <3/4>
A stranger not affiliated with Rebeller mocked me earlier this morning for saying that I'm trying to foster a community that promotes positivity instead of hate, but I stand by it now more than ever. <4/4 - but there's one more>
I hope you all have a great weekend and that, if you're currently loving something, you share that love with the world.
