We are about to see an explosion of #COVIDー19 across the country. States need to brace themselves for what is about to break, although I fear it is already too late.

Example: Alabama
The state was on a downward trend 4/16 - 4/30
Their stay at home order ended 4/30

Since reopening they have been on an upward trend, with a huge spike yesterday

Let's look at Florida. Overall it looks like a nice downward trend with a spike here and there. Bars and Restaurants opened on 5/4

Here is 5/5 to present
Yesterday's spike didn't reach their worst single day increase, but they have already posted an increase of almost 800 new cases with 10 hours left in the reporting period

During lock down, spikes could be easily seen 7 to 10 days after events where people were less vigilant. Here is Michigan after Easter and the lock down protests

I pray we don't return to the days of +30k new cases per day, but I've been watching the trends and I'm deeply concerned. It's been between 7 & 14 days since states have started easing restrictions. I fear the check is about to come due.

In the time it took me to put together this thread, the number or new cases jumped by over 4000.

This is not hyperbole. It's real and happening now.

Stay home if you can. wear a mask.
