It took me no time at all to notice that this nothing, this hole where a head should have been was no ordinary vacancy, no mere nothing. On the contrary, it was very much occupied. It was a vast emptiness vastly filled, a nothing that found room for everything
room for grass, trees, shadowy distant hills, and far above them snowpeaks like a row of angular clouds riding the blue sky. I had lost a head and gained a world
We suffer because we overlook the fact that, at heart, we are all right
I often feel as though the answer to many of my problems lie in eastern philosophy (e.g. Daoism, Buddhism, etc). It's not a quick or easy fix. Some of it may be unattainable in the span of a typical human life. Perhaps that's why I've recently been eager to incorporate more .....
western stoic practices into my personal philosophy/lifestyle. I think this has been a positive development. That being said, buddhist headlessness is an important concept to me. I don't believe that I "literally" don't have a head. It's more about the fact that consciousness ...
is this great big mystery that we know virtually nothing about. where does it comes from? what is it? AAA!! if you close your eyes, look at the redness of your eyelids from your ever so present visual field, and then attempt to look for your consciousness -- you reach a place ...
where you just sorta feel things. it's brief and does not last long but it's the most present i've ever felt and it's nice having no thoughts hehe. the sensations of the wind on the hairs on my leg, the aches and tingly feelings on my waist, they're all coming from one place ....

This is just a long form way of me saying "being present is cool" hahahah but honestly it's not easy to be present. Everyone claims they are but i doubt that they're as present as they claim to be. You cannot be thinking when you're present. You just are.
When it happens it's brief and very short. You're listening to music and you notice you just went without thoughts for a while. You're going on a walk and you realize all that was in your head were the sensations of your feet hitting the ground and the chirping of the birds above
idk why i started this thread -- i just felt like talking about what i want and it turned into a discussion of being headless. i want to just be. things are hard and something always comes up but i just want to be. that's all :)
