People with all the return to K-12 school social distancing plans are TRIPPING. We are so obviously either going to be remote or just chuck it all, go back to normal, & hope for the best. 1/8
Like BRO do you understand the most basic logistics of how schools function? From busses to moving through a building to eating lunch? (& sometimes breakfast) 2/8
Then you factor in the fact kids from grades preschool to 12 cannot NOT touch either CONSTANTLY. And that good instruction sometimes requires moving around 3/8
Now let's talk about your teachers/staff who are still exposed to every one of their students anyway and we're all just spreading it back & forth. Even if you somehow think alternating days are a good idea 4/8
Alternating days are a terrible idea. For exposure and also child care. AND because educators already don't have time to do their jobs & that will absolutely add to workloads even with possibly smaller class sizes 5/8
And while some ideas are trying to address the kids' safety, they ignore the safety of the staff, and the fact subs are almost impossible to get now, plus factor in a lot of subs are at-risk 6/8
I guess they might require face masks. But kids have sensory issues. You can't even always enforce them taking off a hat or following a moderate dress code. And it's more difficult to understand someone when you can't see their mouth (And especially so for many deaf/HOH folk) 7/8
In summary, I'll either see everyone in the the fall or no one, because people really don't know anything about how schools function. 8/8
