Thread... Musing on #Covid19

I wonder about the growing numbers and worry at the excitement of GOK in announcing the new number of positive #coronavirusInkenya cases. They announce it as though it is a great achievement...

#COVID19KE
...and go on with great zeal to declare that they expect more numbers and that September will be a peak month. They finally have their peak and they are terribly excited about it.

#COVID19KE
So a few questions should be asked. The country was placed on a partial shutdown with a nationwide curfew from 7:00pm to 5:00am daily since the month of March.

#COVID19KE
From April, cessation of movement in and out of the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa and Kilifi were decreed with Mandera, Wajir joining them later. Shortly after that full lockdown was decreed for Eastleigh and Mombasa Old town.

#COVID19KE
All these measures were aimed as they say, at ”flattening the curve” which curve we had not yet seen as the numbers were not that many despite their declarations that mid-April would see at least 10,000 infections if nothing was done.

#COVID19KE
So they did something and we expected the numbers not to go up but to go down.

#COVID19KE
Then they started testing. Curiously the numbers started going up and not just up but up exponentially. Interestingly enough, they were even appearing with new symptoms yet to be seen elsewhere.

#COVID19KE
So the question begs, seeing as the GOK took such stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus but we see rising numbers, does this mean then that the measures are not working @gathara ?

#COVID19KE
The other question is this, is there a real possibility that the tests are actually infecting people? How do you test persons who show no visible signs of being infected only for them to be found positive and go on to exhibit new and hitherto unknown symptoms?

#COVID19KE
Given that we are dealing with an extremely dishonest leadership, has anyone considered that high numbers of infections equal donor aid to support efforts to curb the spread?

#COVID19KE
In addition, given that there is every effort to convince the world of the need for a vaccine to deal with this coronavirus and reports were circulating of Kenya being one of the country’s chosen for human testing which was vigorously denied by the liar in chief...

#COVID19KE
...then later affirmed by world reports, could it be that people are being deliberately infected to create a rationale for human testing? Predictions of Africans dying like flies due to weak healthcare systems and inability to cope were not coming to pass...

#COVID19KE
; could someone be working to fulfill a prophecy? Please do not imagine that the GOK cannot do this, there are many a soulless people in leadership.

Again the matter of the efficacy and accuracy of the test kits themselves.

#COVID19KE
All over the world many countries were returning and rejecting testing kits due to high failure rates and even contamination with the virus. Curiously in Africa, no such news has been forthcoming. I wonder if Africa is the only recipient of 100% accurate kits. 🤔🤔🤔

#COVID19KE
We all know the GOK is broke and #COVID19 has come almost like a silver lining for them because not only do they have something to blame for the economic collapse, they also now have leeway to borrow with reckless abandon.

#COVID19KE
Institutions that have previously warned of unsustainable debt levels and clear debt distress of the Kenyan economy are now pouring in billions by the day in #COVID19 support and all.

#COVID19KE
Someone actually said that for as long as money is available, African countries will continue churning out the numbers.

#COVID19KE
I have a sense that something very sinister is afoot and the media have all but abandoned asking questions of the GOK or even looking at the inconsistencies in their approach and narrative.

#COVID19KE
This is not to say that COVID19 is not real, it is real and it is there however it seems to be well tolerated by many and the recoveries are very encouraging.

#COVID19KE
Those who need medical support and intervention including intensive care are those who have underlying medical conditions and weakened immune systems.

Who will save Kenyans from this situation?

Who will ask the questions that need asking?

Response to this 👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾from a doctor who wishes to remain anonymous... 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Hi. I am a Doctor at a private hospital in Nairobi. I was reading your post on the #COVID19KE testing and the rising numbers.
We as doctors are questioning these numbers, they are either cooked to portray an image of rising numbers OR the tests they are carrying out are producing false positives.

#COVID19KE
HOW is it that the numbers are rising but we aren't seeing a corresponding rise in the number of #COVID19KE patients in the hospitals? In other countries, the rising numbers are affirmed by a rise in severe pneumonia cases in hospitals with full ICUs.
This is not the case in any of the large Kenyan hospitals in Nairobi, ie KNH, AKUH, NH, MP Shah. We suspect these numbers are being cooked to bring in foreign aid!
