I asked God to take some things out of my life that had me in spiritual bondage but when He actually did I wasn’t ready. I said “really, Lord, NOW?”

Sometimes we pray lip service; we ASK for renewal but deep down we want to keep holding onto things that have a hold over us.

But I thank God for putting me first even when I don’t.

Even though letting go of things I cherish is awkward and painful in the moment, I know it’s the best thing for me. God’s plans are greater. Every change, every uprooting, every removal, is refining me.

Everything is working for my good. I just need to trust the process.

Like Paul said: “I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord...

For his sake I have discarded everything else counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ” Philippians 3:7-8 (NLT)
