You see, quite often, we deny ourselves of Success. We pray for miracles to uplift us, yet when same miracles show up in the form of another person, we simply don’t see it. In most cases, we fail to grab these opportunities by PRICING ourselves out of the market and reach.

Those of you who know me, are aware that before moving to this side of the Atlantic, I tried my hands at Songwriting. In fact, I convinced myself I was the “best” lyricist in the “world”. I had a bunch of good songs written. Then taught myself how to write Music!

So when I arrived overhere, I was more interested in Nashville. Nashville is to American Country Music, what Atlanta is to Hip Hop and Movie making. So I started sending out my songs to various companies I could find. There was NO Internet then.

Eventually, I did get a call from a small outfit Studio. They wanted to hear and meet me. I was on top of the world. I fooled myself, big time has finally come! I drove close to 200 miles for the meeting. After listening to me and going through my writings, they were impressed

Then came the OFFER and verdict! He began, “You see, you are an UNKNOWN ENTITY, You sound FUNNY”...! So here is what we can do. We can take your songs and try to market them to others to sing. If we succeed, we pay you a commission.

“The other option is that, you PAY us to market your songs for you. If we succeed, we take a % of the sales”. What do he heck, I thought to myself. I gathered up my stuff and left! As at today, the said songs have NOT been released! Nobody else offered me anything.

Looking back now, it was a simple case of pricing myself out of an opportunity. If I knew then what I know now, I would have said YES! Don’t let this happen to you! Don’t PRICE yourself out of the market. I am NOT saying you give things away for FREE, but THINK future exposure
