In Orwell’s book 1984 (published way back in 1949) the man depicted the UK as a mere landing strip for the superstate “Oceana”, not as part of the superstate “Euroasia”.
By doing so, Orwell effectively predicted Brexit. The man was a visionary genius & I say that as a Remainer.

And no, I’m not saying Orwell was a Brexiter (his depiction is quite a lamentation for those who care to read). Merely, that he had unbelievable & unparalleled insight into the nature of Britain and Britons.

It must have been very lonely to be a mind that shines that bright.
