41% of venues think they will be unable to reopen with social distancing measures in place. The practicalities of the venue and the need for large audience numbers to remain financially viable are two of the reasons cited for this. (2/7)
The majority thought the increased cost of implementing Health & Safety measures, such as additional staffing, PPE, additional cleaning etc., would be 20%. (3/7)
The majority predict a 50% loss in seating capacity, number of screenings, concession sales and advertising revenue. Most venues thought they would only survive a maximum of three months with these measures in place. (4/7)
Most venues think they will be unable to open until September at the earliest, and a significant number don't expect to reopen until next year. (5/7)

We will use the responses to advocate for a reopening plan for the independent sector that makes the right decisions at the right time, for the safety of all. We will lobby for financial support for cinemas remaining closed, and for support to open safely and sustainably. (7/7)
We received 497 responses to the survey. We'd like to thank everyone who participated for taking the time to contribute their voice and helping us form a picture of the sector's views.
