Some excerpts in this thread to make this Friday a special one:
1) Prelude to Act 3 of "Die Meistersinger von NĂĽrmberg. Incredible piece of music, in a wonderful fugatto style
2) Lohengrin prelude: Could a single idea be extended for a longer period of time?
3) Das Rheingold, descent into Nibelheim: Incredible descriptive music, thought to grow into you a sense of despair and anxiety
4) Die Walkure, Leb Wohl: In my opinion, the best excerpt of this wonderful opera, and in this case, sang by the great George London ... Prepare to cry, my friends
5) Siegfried, act 2, "forest murmurs": Is there a better transcription of nature into music? You can even hear an advance of what Stravinsky did in Petrouchka and Le Sacre ... Almighty Richard, thanks for this amazing music
6) Götterdämmerung, "Hagen's Watch": The whole opera is a masterpiece, but this scene is a jewell, showing us the real nature of Hagen and paving the way to Acts 2 and 3 ... Enjoy the superb performance of Matti Salminen
7) Tristan und Isolde, "O sink hernieder": Almost every aspect of love is condensed in this excerpt, with an incredible harmonic and voice leading work. It's impossible to get tired of listening this 26 minute music diamond
8) Parsifal, Verwandlungsmusik: There are so many incredible moments in this piece so maybe the best thing would be sharing the full BĂĽhnenweihfestspiel. In any case, this is one of summits: "Du siehst, mein Sohn, zum Raum wird hier die Zeit". Enjoy it
