So much politics bubbling below the surface in the #Gulf atm. Exchanges of letters, visits, calls bilaterally btwn #Kuwait, #Qatar, #Oman, #Bahrain, #SaudiArabia. No info of #UAE involvement so far, interestingly. Some say it's about #GCC crisis. Maybe, but epicenter seems #Oman.

The more I think about it, the more I believe this is actually about #Oman, not #Qatar. I have been saying for a while #Muscat was vulnerable to increased pressure on regional geopolitics, pressures to "take a side". I believe, this is unraveling right now.

Recording of #Oman FM #YousufbinAlawi (YbA) talking to ex #Libya leader Qaddafi released today. Talk re: the fall of the Saud & #SaudiArabia as a unitary state. YbA is a crucial player in Oman's relations w/ #Iran. If genuine this will be very problematic.
