The main Anglo-colonial argument against Scottish independence appears to be 'We've already taken your oil and sold off your land; it's too late, you're not financially strong enough to survive.' - It's a baffling mix of racism, abuse and misguided supremacism.

A Scot who supports independence does so because they 'hate' English people, apparently. These English people who both stole of our resources (because they were limited and worthless) but have also subsidised & protected Scotland, & will do so regardless of our consent. Bizzare.

I've often asked the colonists why, if the above drivel was true, that no rUK MP has ever suggested ejecting Scotland from the UK.
I've gotten scant replies; one was effectively 'Keep your enemies closer' which I think gives an insight into their paranoid sense of entitlement.

The 'Anti-English' trope is so ingrained that it goes unchallenged, & I suspect that's its purpose.
Independence is inherently normal, Westminster is a cesspit of political incest & entitlement. So everything is done to distract & delegitimise our motivations. There's a pattern.

These people have absolutely no knowledge of the gilt markets, international finance, etc.

The absolute last thing a Brit wants is a serious discussion about why, in their minds, Scotland is still financially 'hopeless' with the largest oil reserves in Europe & after 300 + years of union. The inference is that Scots are inherently inferior & incapable. It's racism.

Oddly, many brits seem to be nearly championing Scotland's care home deaths with dodgy statistics & misplaced blame.

That's a main part of their electoral base being whittled away & their cheering. Why? Because they don't know anything about Scotland... yet should 'control' us.

They also need to have an inferior 'other' to measure themselves against. You can see their cultural insecurity typically expressed through their shameless WW2 fetish. The UK may have the highest death toll in Europe & a likely alcoholic as PM, but they're still BETTER THAN JOCKS

They can also disguise their arguments; 'I hate nationalism' - Apparently british isolation is fine, even if its against Scotland's will, but our independence is 'built on hate' - Like Narcissus, they can't see past their own reflection, their own contempt for other cultures.
