Ok guys it’s 3 am and I am super bored so I researched some places that I think would visually fit locations in the live action Avatar, despite whether they are realistic or not, so THREAD: BEAUTIFUL PLACES FOR A REAL LIFE AVATAR WORLD

1) South Pole

Antarctica (first two horizontal photos) looks great, plus there are dolphins!
Greenland (bottom two horizontal photos) also looks good

2) North Pole

You cannot tell me that Harbin, China during its Ice Festival doesn’t look exactly like the Northern Tribe!

3) Air Temples

Tianzi Mountains (first pic) and Mount Fanjing (second pic)! Mount Fanjing is literally a skinny mountain with a temple on top!!

4) Fire Nation

Aogashima, Japan, is a city in a volcano, this could work for big scenes where they show the entire nation and maybe edit it to look like there’s more buildings inside

Bangkok Royal Palace, Thailand for the Fire Nation Palace and Yu Garden, China (particularly during its Lantern Festival) for ordinary streets/villages

5) Earth Kingdom

The Forbidden City would be so perfect for Ba Sing Se if it was a bit greener!

Yu Garden , China (first pic) for Upper Ring in Ba Sing Se or fancy houses in the Earth Kingdom in general + Xijiang Qianhu Miao Villages (second pic) for ordinary villages around the Kingdom

Borneo Peat Swamps in Southeast Asia for the swamp

Gobi Desert, China and Djado Ruins, Niger for the desert (lol thanks @Lonelystarrd22 for tweeting about the Djado Ruins first)

I’m so sad that I can’t find a library like the Wang Shi Tong Library (oh and also a city like Omashu)

These are just some of the main places in the show that I can think of!
