today my therapist told me that being an emotional person and feeling everything so deeply is a gift. it’s healthy and takes a long time to develop. that connection to self is something to be proud of.
sometimes as a very emotional person i feel shame for the extreme ups and downs i experience and wish i was more level headed, more “stable,” but today in therapy i learned that being less emotionally expressive does not always equal stability
some of the people we perceive as stable because they don’t have breakdowns every other day are simply coping with their emotions instead of processing them
all of this is to say that i hope this reaches whoever needs to hear it and that it serves as a reminder to all of my deeply emotional and sensitive people to find power and strength in your way of being
