The diversity conversation has always bothered me. A lot to say about it. More later. If you are a startup you may want to consider not just hiring a black PR girl just to “check the box” but give opportunities for people of color to invest and get on that cap table
So many times startups only think of celebrities (particularly artist and athletes) to bring shine to the company thru social media or a press hit. If you want to really make a difference allow them to invest in your company
And to managers, agents, homeboys to aforementioned celebs and athletes, when a good deal comes your way If your “business manager” doesn’t understand startup, tech, etc bring someone in that does. A slow Yes is a horrible thing for everyone and tech don’t wait for you sorry
