Is there a way to copy a tweet and every single response because I want to copy everything on that @jiatolentino thread where the blue checks fall over each other to praise her parents human trafficking & send it to the Smithsonian because its a damn work of art.
There are so many good elements to this story its hard to believe its real.

Here& #39;s a link to the post : https://twitter.com/jiatolentino/status/1263208982614814722">https://twitter.com/jiatolent...
Let me recap what we have so far.

1. She writes a book last year subtitled, "Reflections on Self-Delusion".

2. Recently the haters figured out that her parents were caught doing some extortion and human trafficking.
3. These haters were replying to her social media comments with references to this scandal, so she thought she would just nip it in the bud.
4. She wrote a short blog post describing a "devastatingly serious criminal case that my parents were at the center of", painting her and them as victims of a racist and oppressive government out to get brown people.
5. This blog spins an obviously false tale about her parent& #39;s business which was practically a charity which helped bring Filipino doctors and nurses to the US to work.
6. Immediately, a Who& #39;s Who of blue checks rally to her defense with a "F these people" here and an "F em all sideways" there!
7. But those haters arent done, they show up in the thread. None of them have blue checks, but they bring the receipts. Oh boy do they ever bring the receipts!
8. Turns out that "devastatingly serious criminal case" that the folks were "the center of" was actually a massive, multi-million dollar extortion, money laundering, & human trafficking operation that both her parents and grandparents had run for decades!
9. Rather than helping these Filipinos, they were charging them huge upfront fees, shipping them to the US, stealing most of their salary, and forcing them to live packed together in houses Jia& #39;s family controlled.
10. On top of that, they were caught paying bribes to school district officials in multiple districts in exchange for them hiring these slaves.
11. There& #39;s tons more info in the original thread, including documentation from the court, victim& #39;s allegations, etc. The replies from the blue checks are great, and the satirical replies from everyone else are even better.
12. And now we have another blue-check lawyer who insists on destroying his credibility and reputation, @MaxKennerly, by weighing in and claiming that the whole thing is just a bigoted overzealous prosecutor!
Max has written a short thread linked below, where he claims all these allegations "completely failed at trial". Let& #39;s examine that a bit closer.

First off, @MaxKennerly completely ignores all the allegations of extortion, loan sharking, and abusing the teachers, choosing to focus only on whether or not this was human trafficking.
Unbelievably, Max uncritically parrots the human trafficker& #39;s argument that, because the victims were issued valid visas (based on the fraudulent docs submitted), none of those visas had expired yet, and (this part is hilarious) the gov let the teachers stay in the US and testify
...then no human trafficking happened!

WOW!

Just an FYI, a quick google search appears to show @MaxKennerly is an ambulance chaser who specializes in injury accidents, not immigration law.
