Instead she threw a white girl fit and got the TEACHER (like a snitch) to schedule all events together so she could to stop them from even trying out! Sure, you can say “that’s show bizz.” Great. So is someone being better than you and getting the part, past experience or not.

Some of y’all are also conveniently forgetting how she bullied Kelsi after she changed HER song without her permission even though kelsi had more talented in her pinky then all of them tbh say THANK U Kelsi for all those absolute BANGERS.

Guys there’s literally an ENTIRE scene where Sharpay tells Ryan they aren’t doing humuhumu anymore so he’s NOT in the talent show at their FAMILIES country club, to sell his ICONIC tiki costume online BUT to still watch the rest of the wildcats so they don’t “steal”her show again

Gabriella and Ryan become friends AFTER Sharpay ditches him to attempt to be Troys sugar daddy. She knows he’s talented and a great performer. She asks for his help so her and her friends can still perform. Shady cause he’s Sharpays brother? Maybe. But not compared to Sharpay and

Troy. Let’s talk about Sharpay and Troy. Was she helping him and using her daddy’s connections selflessly? No. She did it so she can force him to sing with her and be her boo She made him promise in front of all the people who can give him a scholarship. Another scene in HSM2

Ignoring that what Sharpay is doing is basically illegal in the sporting world, this is just plain shady. Gabriella got Troy to stand up to his dad, his friends and embrace a new passion. Sharpay told him they’re skin tone compatible and used her wealth to pressure him to chill.

She ALSO pressured her Daddy’s employee to “make them wanna quit” and made her classmates work during a talent show where staff is included. If a white girl had done this to a Latina and two black kids IRL woke twitter would have come for her NECK. But y’all are absent here.

So at this point Gabriella has had enough and quit. Should she have? Maybe not. Maybe she should have stuck it out cause Troy was looking out for his future. But I’d like to see how y’all would react if ur bf has to spend his day flirting with another girl to achieve his dreams.

Anyway Troy then had a very public breakdown on a golf course, the movie wrapped ONTO HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THREE

Here is where Gabriella arguable acted worse. She left. Couldn’t handle leaving. And tried to wipe a clean slate. Not cool. Not fun. Pretty lame. HOWEVER. Imagine being a shy nerd who moves around your whole life. It’s traumatic. It makes u scared of losing things.

And suddenly she has the perfect life! And she’s fallen in love and scared of not being able to handle constantly having to leave the life she loves. So she does the sucky thing and bails. Again. That’s her character flaw. Just like Troys is having an existential crisis everyfilm

And Troy pulls her back! He says nah bb girl you dismantled a social hierarchy, made me stand up for myself, helped me find another passion, supported me and made me strong. Ur not gonna suck about this. It was beautiful. It was iconic. It was what real love looks like

LETS NOT PRETEND they weren’t iconic. Let’s not pretend we didn’t belt their ballads or scream when they kissed and danced in the rain. Let’s not pretend everyone would flock to the movies just to see Sharpay.
