I sincerely believe I have been patient and supportive of the President and his team’s approach to the lockdown so far. But Monday marks exactly 2 months since lockdown began.

I know people who’ve lost jobs, I have friends who are afraid they will lose their businesses and...
almost everyone I know has taken a salary cut to some level, some as much as 90% (except those who work for government by the way). I also personally don’t know anyone who has successfully received business relief from any solidarity fund.
And yet the Covid cases keep rising.

But one thing that does exist is data. Data from China, Sweden, New Zealand, Spain, Italy and New York that PROVES who the vulnerable are.

Surely, SURELY, we as adults can assess our own risk and make educated decisions about what
and where we choose to engage while making sure the vulnerable remain protected and safe? 98% of the economy returning while keeping 2% safe has to be a better option than 100% of the economy suffering and 100% of lives affected?
This lockdown has lost rational reasoning and patience is wearing thin. Communication continues to be conflicted, messaging ambiguous and the fact is we don’t know how many lives a continued lockdown will save but we do know how many livelihoods will be destroyed.
Sure I am not an epidemiologist and excuse the rant (I bet I will receive some sort of “privilege” abuse) but I vent in words. I am stressed for the friends and family around me as well as my own business and the 13 people it employs.

I am sure I am not alone.
