The aftermath of #CycloneAmphan has left 80 dead (&rising) millions without food, electricity or homes. Relief efforts are incredibly challenging with all of this is unfolding against the backdrop of COVID-19. Please donate whatever you can, here are some verified orgs:
The Quarantined Student Youth Network was already doing invaluable work with regards to relief efforts for migrants and others displaced during the lockdown: you can donate to them from the UK, EU and the US as well as domestically:
The Jadavpur Commune is another very well organised effort that has been distributing cooked food, medicines, masks, rations, sanitisers during the lockdown tirelessly:
Mukti has 8,000 volunteers working in the Sundarbans and 24 Parganas, the worst affected areas - and is aiming to provide support for 30,000 families.
Goonj is collecting supplies from all the metropolitan cities all over India @goonj
Mayuri aims to work with women and children in outskirts of Kolkata and villages of West Bengal to tackle inadequate access to quality healthcare and medical facilities, lack of education opportunities, improper nourishment, and the scarcity of clean drinking water.
