Hey @airindiain, can you please explain why you’ve refused to give me a full refund on my ticket when international travel is banned & you yourself have cancelled the flight? @PIBHomeAffairs
I was suppose to travel to London day after tomorrow but due to a global pandemic I realised early on that won’t be possible.Been following up with @airindiain for weeks now, who keep on telling me that I’ll only be able to cancel if the lockdown extends till the day of my travel
So I waited till the official announcement of lockdown 4 was made by the govt.Which in itself is ridiculous because obv it is not prudent to travel esp internationally for a vacation. So when I called @airindiain they told me they have no idea and asked me to call back in 2 days
Which I did. Now, @airindiain is giving me 2 options:
1. Either I move my travel date to any other date till 31st March 2021 (applies to international travel only) OR;
2. I get a refund but they’ll cut GST. Which roughly comes up to a Rs.10,000/- deduction

I have no intention of traveling domestically forget internationally as I come under the category of high risk group. So the first option is not an option for me. @airindiain
Coming to the 2nd option, I don’t understand why a FULL REFUND is not initiated by @airindiain esp when there is ban on international travel? Why am I being penalised for something that is not in my hands?? @PIBHomeAffairs
In one of the emails, @airindiain states that as per the @MoCA_GoI instructions, full refunds w/o any cancellation charges will be made only for bookings that are either issued between 25th March 2020 to 3rd May 2020 OR the travel date is between 25th March 2020 to 3rd May2020
So since I booked my tickets back in January, acc to @airindiain, I am not eligible for a refund w/o cancellation fee. I just don’t understand it! We are in a lockdown, I can’t travel & I lose money?
So to recap @MoCA_GoI @PIBHomeAffairs:
1.There’s been a nationwide lockdown since 25th March ‘20.
2. International travel is banned by the govt & nobody has the slightest clue when it’s going to be safe to travel again.
3. @airindiain refuses to give me a cancellation fee.

I need to know why. What possible rationale is @airindiain applying that I can’t appreciate! I am not asking for much, just refund my damn money!
