@DrNigelClarkeJa. Pleasant morning to you sir. I'm here on behalf of my staffs, coworkers and a few tourism workers most of who were laid off before the end of March 2020( myself included). These are persons who are qualified for SET Cash grant as indicated by messages recieved.
These applications were done on April 9,2020 the same day the online portal was opened. It is now May 21, 2020 and I have been getting constant calls from persons asking *Ms Murray a wen we go get the money, how dem a deal wid we so*.
The vibrancy of the tourism industry is at a standstill therefore these workers are clueless to when they will be able to return to normal living.
There are persons out here collecting compassionate Grant's and saying they got free money from government while the persons who were contributing to the economical growth of the country are yet to get any payment.
While these persons are grateful to you and your team for initiating a program to assist them while been laid off they are also upset at the fact that they were been treated unfair as persons who were NEVER working and were NEVER paying taxes before Covid-19 benefited before them
As the dawn could break this morning I started getting messages saying the week is almost done and they still haven't gotten anything.
Sir I'm kindly and humbly asking if you could expedite the process so as to alleviate some of the strain these persons are facing.
Sir please do not let the week finish without these workers getting their grants for April and please do not let the May finish without them getting the grants for May.

There are tourism workers out here who were already living paychecks to paychecks and who were laid off without any form of assistance from their employers.
