More scholarship needs to be done on eco-terrorists & misanthropic nihilists like Individualidades tendiendo a lo Salvaje, ITS (Individualists Tending Toward the Wild)
They started as supposedly anarchist group in Mexico before morphing to eco-fascist accelerationism
Their early activities included Unabomber style bomb attacks against a Prof of Nanotechnology & another university in Mexico in 2011. https://www.americasquarterly.org/blog/rogue-group-attacks-nanotechnology-in-mexico/
Over time ITS have expanded their influence beyond Mexico into other countries & claimed IED & arson attacks & even assassinations in Chile, Argentinia, Greece, Spain, UK & elsewhere. Their ideas have spread online via Telegram & other encrypted channels https://www.nature.com/articles/476373a
ITS has also inspired creation of groups with similar ideas (some of which may be ITS front groups or noms de guerre) including ReacciĆ³n Salvaje (RS) Wild Reaction, Kill or Dieā Group, Obsidian Point Circle of Attack etc. - see @mloadenthal book for more details
At same time, their ideological beliefs as expressed in a series of communiques have moved from a Stirner-inspired individualism & Kaczynski-esque anarcho-primitivism to a rejection of labels such as anarchism, insurrectionism & post-leftism.
They have consciously embraced an extreme nihilism which justifies & celebrates attacks against members of the public, as well as attacks on other anarchists.
Plus willingness to adopt fascist style ācullingā of āpopulations
Plus willingness to adopt fascist style ācullingā of āpopulations
This is typified by ITS response to Christchurch massacre which celebrated the racist mass murder for its destabilisation & chaos.
They also ādistinguishedā their eco-extremism from eco-fascism by claiming that they rejected the latter as it posited a future for humanity

As a result of their nihilistic politics & indiscriminate attacks, ITS have been heavily criticised by some of the main anarchist groups in the US and elsewhere. Scott Campbell wrote this piece for @IGD_News āThereās nothing anarchist about eco-fascismā https://itsgoingdown.org/nothing-anarchist-eco-fascism-condemnation/
After the piece was published, ITS responded by threatening to kill Scott Campbell, viciously attacked other anarchists & suggested that they had tried to bomb an autonomous space in Mexico https://itsgoingdown.org/its-attacks-anarchists/
IGD also supported the publication of a pamphlet criticising ITS āOf Indiscriminate Attacks and Wild Reactions: an anti-civ anarchist engages with ITS and Atassa, their defenders and their false attacksā
Also worth reading the critique of ITS by another anarchist writer & theorist @rechelon āOn No Platform and ITSā http://humaniterations.net/2017/10/24/on-no-platform-and-its/
While this pamphlet āAgainst Eco-Extremism: Mirror Image of Civilisation & Religionā collates a number of critiques from another anarchist & environmental groups https://325.nostate.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ee-Copy.pdf
Similar nihilistic & accelerationist themes to those expressed by ITS in its communiques can be found in literature which is popular in neo-Nazi & Alt-right circles from James Masonās Siege! to Mike Maās Harrasment Architecture as well as on Telegram
Ecofascism is subject of whole other thread but this piece by @MrBrianHughes is good examination of contemporary ecofascism & accelerationism in āPine Treeā https://violence-prevention-network.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Interventionen_14-2019.pdf
As well as the sources quoted above, this post Anarchy : Deep in the Woods by @slackbastard was a very useful synthesis of many of the issues and sources on ITS https://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=44186
This excellent & regularly updated thread on ITS by @Jake_Hanrahan is highly recommended for background on their activities including claimed terrorist acts & murders, their ideological peregrinations & their transnational growth. Plus some interviews. https://twitter.com/jake_hanrahan/status/958325812104712192
Iāve only scratched the surface in this thread as came across ITS while researching contemporary eco-fascism but while anarchists & some journalists have written good work on ITS, we need to see more scholarly studies of the evolution of the group & its contemporary activities
