A variety of movements of feminist ideology have developed through out the years. They vary in goals, strategies and affiliation. They often overlap, and some feminists identify themselves with several branches of feminist thoughts. The broad 3 being Gender reform feminisms, https://twitter.com/OgbeniDipo/status/1263359098973716480
gender resistant feminism and gender revolution feminism. Some feminism are rooted in political philosophy of liberalism with it's emphasis on individual rights. While another feminism focus on specific behaviors and group dynamics through which women are kept in a
subordinate position, even in subcultures which claim to support gender equality. While other feminism seek to disrupt the social order through deconstructing it's concepts and categories and analyzing the cultural reproduction of inequalities. Now the set of feminism/feminist
who seem to unsettle you are the individualists feminist, these set of people do not go by rules or theories that have been laid down. Most of them form their own opinion through personal experiences and strict observation.
The cause of diversity is that "some argue that every
feminist has an altered standpoint on the movement due to the varying hurdles women of different backgrounds come across." Generally, the movement share perspective while disagreeing on others. While we disagree, we do that without total dismissal.
You call the type of feminism
you don't understand stupid and toxic then under the same breath say you understand "feminism" thereby quoting the conventional "equality of the sexes." How much of it do you believe in? Knowing something is different from believing in it. Everyone who has spat on the feminist
agenda like you, know the habitual "equality of the sexes" but tend to want these feminists to follow one approach. Because it makes you uncomfortable seeing various viewpoint. The typical "this is not what feminism is about." Are there extremists? Yeah! The anarchist/radical
feminist who tend to be more militant in their approach. In a nutshell, understand the ideology that way, you'll be more accommodating of different perspectives and critic from a theoretical and constructive viewpoint.
Do not drag feminism because someone is being stupid or misinterpreted what you initially said. This has been a norm on these street, people shit on the agenda for the most silly reasons. Do not associate feminism or a branch of it with derogatory words like stupid. If someone
goes out of their way to insult or humiliate you, it's on that person and not the agenda.
