Cr7 big failures in crucial moments, a thread.

We start with him in Portugal.
First of all, the UEFA euro 2004: 0-1 in the final vs Greece at home.

2006 World CUP: after two anonymous games vs Nederland and England, Portugal lost 0-1 the semifinal vs France with another bad performance by Cr7.

UEFA euro 2008: Portugal lost at the first game after the group stage, the quarter final vs Germany 2-3. No assist or goal by Cr7 in this match.

2010 World Cup: Portugal lost the round of 16 vs Spain 0-1, with an horrible performance by Cr7.

UEFA euro 2012: Portugal lost vs Spain in the semifinal. Ronaldo has a very bad game, missing a lot of chances. After 120 minutes, Cr7 refused to take the penalty and Portugal is out.

2014 World CUP: A disaster for Portugal. Out at group stage vs Germany, Ghana and USA.
Only 1 goal for Cr7 vs Ghana, but it’s not enough to avoid the humiliation.

UEFA euro 2016: Portugal is third in group stage vs Austria, Iceland and and Hungary. Ronaldo misses a penalty vs Austria, but Portugal is on the next phase as one of the best third. Ronaldo has bad games vs Croatia and Poland. In the final vs France (No Varane) he’s out.

2018 World CUP: Portugal is second in the group stage, Cr7 misses the crucial penalty vs Iran for first place. So at the round of 16 is Portugal vs Uruguay: Portugal lost 2-1 and B. Silva try to lead the team, because Cr7 is totally absent.

Now we see the failures with clubs in UCL.

UCL 2004-2005: Manchester United is out vs Milan, round of 16. (0-1 at home, 1-0 at San Siro). Ronaldo is anonymous in both games.

UCL 2005-2006: Manchester United is 4th in the group stage vs Lille, Villareal and Benfica. 6 games with 0 goal and 0 assist for Ronaldo.

UCL 2006-2007: United is out vs Milan, semifinal. They won 3-2 at Old Trafford (with 1 Cr7 goal) but at San Siro Ronaldo disappear and Milan win 3-0.

UCL 2007-2008: United win the trophy. Ronaldo scores only 3 goals in knockout phase, 1 in the final where he has a normal performance and misses the penalty during the penalty shoot-out. Luckily for him and United, Terry slips.

UCL 2008-2009: One of the biggest delusions of Ronaldo’s career. In the final vs Messi’s Barcelona, he is litteraly humiliated by the Spanish team. Horrible performance by Cr7 and Leo holding the trophy in front of him after a perfect game.

UCL 2009-2010: Ronaldo joins Real Madrid with others great players like Benzema, Kakà, Alonso and Albiol. The first UCL campaign with Real is a big failure: out vs Lyon, round of 16. Ronaldo has a terrible game in France and a decent one at Bernabéu, but his goal is not enough.

UCL 2010-2011: Real Madrid is out in semifinal vs Barça. 0-2 at Bernabéu where Messi scores a brace, with one of the most beautiful goal in football history and 1-1 at Camp Nou. Ronaldo is a ghost in both games, and he has only 2 goals in the in knockout phase.

UCL 2011-2012: Real is out in semifinal vs Bayern. Ronaldo scores 8 goal vs Dinamo, Ajax, Lyon, CSKA and Apoel. He has a bad game in Germany in the first leg of semifinals, but scores 2 goals in Spain. Unfortunately he misses the penalty during penalty shoot-out, and Real is out.

UCL 2012-2013: Real is out in semifinal again, vs Borussia Dortmund. Ronaldo scores in Germany, but disappear after the goal and Lewandowski makes 4.
Real win 2-0 at Bernabéu (no assist or goal for Ronaldo, not in a good game) but is out.

UCL 2013-2014, 2015-2016 and 2017-2018: Real win the trophy, after controversial and polemical decisions by referees. Ronaldo is one of the worst player of Real in all of these 3 finals.

UCL 2014-2015: Real is out in semifinal vs Juve. Ronaldo scores in Italy and on penalty in the second leg, but he can’t lead the team to the final.

UCL 2018-2019 and 2019-2020: First season with Juve, out at quarter finals vs Ajax. He scores 2 goals (1+1) but when ajax scores at Juventus Stadium the pressure grow up and Ronaldo disappear. In 19-20 Juventus lose first leg 1-0 vs Lyon and Ronaldo has one of the worst game ever

Now we see other games were Ronaldo failed and can’t lead team to win.

Ronaldo misses penalty and costs crucial points for La Liga title race ,with Barça, vs Malaga (1-1) in 2015/2016 and vs Valencia (2-2) in 2014/2015. This one lead Barça to another Treble.

Ronaldo has a lot of humiliations vs Barça, in El Clasico. 5-0(2010/2011, Barça win La Liga), 0-3(2017/2018, Barça win La Liga), 2-3 (2016/2017, Ronaldo was a ghost), 0-4 (2015/2016), 3-4 and 2-1 (in 2013/2014 that left out Real from title race, Ronaldo was horrible in both)

Ronaldo has also terrible game in Supercoppa Italia final vs Lazio(2019), vs Chelsea in a crucial match for Premier League title (3-0 for blues 2005/2006), again vs Chelsea in 2006/2007 Fa CUP finals (1-0 for blues) and in both matches vs Atletico for Spanish super CUP in 2014.
