I was on zoom with some former colleagues & talks got to sexual abuse as kids. We realized 9 out of 13men on the call were abused as kids, that it affects their sexual lives today. 7 never told anyone till recently. It’s time to change the silence culture of sexual abuses in boys
What’s even worse is that one a females also shared that her brother was also abused as a kid and also never told anyone. I had to ask for permission to share this. If silence of abuses amongst boys is this huge, then there is a lot of troubled boys & men not getting help.
The silence has become so normal that even as adults, we’ve normalized harassment against men, & everyone makes jokes of it. It is now assumed that men want to be harassed or are okay with random flirting. Parents need to redirect this trajectory. We can start with our boys. End
My attention just got drawn to this thread and poll done last year by @zeal_a on this topic, and the responses by over 2,000 participants reiterates my fear and leaves a lot to worry about: Please it’s a must Read.

From the way my DM is being bombarded with experiences in just less than 30minutes. It appears we have a huge graveyard of abuses and troubled men, some even seeing therapists walking in and out amongst us, from sexual abuses by aunts, maids, nannies, teachers & neighbors. 😭😭😭
