Thaitown, Sydney, 1pm. They’ve started handing out today’s food and essentials to students etc. The last item is an envelope with some cash. The people you see lined up here are maybe a quarter of the queue, which stretches back around the block.

All gone so quickly. I guess that’s all they had to hand out today.

By “they” I mean the cluster of Thaitown businesses that are chipping in. I haven’t looked into who, exactly, buy there’s certainly no help from The People In Charge.
