On 4/10 I received a briefing from MDH on the modeling and requested death rate plotted over time in their model. On that call they said they’d provide it, but on 4/13 they emailed saying the wouldn’t. Today I found that @dhmontgomery has posted that info. See next tweet.
According to Gov Walz modeling, Minnesota would have the highest peak death rate in the world at 8.8/100k/day. NY State peaked at 5.0/100k/day on April 10 and they are now at 1.21/100k/day.
I’ll remind you that all of these predictions in Gov Walz modeling are the current predictions with the current restrictions he currently has in place now.
In the US the highest peak death rate was .70 deaths/100k/day on April 15, the US is now at .52/100k/day. Gov Walz current model predicts Minnesota will have a peak rate of 8.8 deaths/100k/day. That’s 12.6 times greater in MN than the US peak.
Minnesota’s current death rate is .49 deaths/100k/day. Governor Walz is predicting that it will be 18 times worse with a July peak when we should expect 8.8/100k/day. That would make us 4 times worse than any other country in the world.
Btw, this is all based on the modeling in version 3 of Gov Walz modeling. Version 2 in April predicted 17.7 deaths/100k/day in Minnesota at the peak. That’s almost 4 times greater than NY. 😳
