35 years ago, Ellen Malcolm started a political revolution.

With just 25 women gathered in her basement — she helped change the face of American politics. She helped create the infrastructure to elect pro-choice Democratic women to office all across the country. #EMILYTurns35
Today, that infrastructure has grown into the nation’s largest resource for women in politics. It’s grown into an organization that helped usher in the “Year of the Woman” (twice), elected barrier-breaking women, and helped propel a woman to the top of the presidential ticket.
From Barbara Mikulski, to Ann Richards, to Tammy Baldwin, to Nancy Pelosi, to Mazie Hirono, to Kamala Harris, to Catherine Cortez Masto, to Sharice Davids — I’m so proud of all of the women @emilyslist has helped elect over the last 35 years. #EMILYTurns35
To all of the women who have been a part of the @emilyslist family, I thank you. Your constituents thank you. This country thanks you.

Thank you for putting your name on the ballot and changing politics for the better.
I can’t wait to see what the next 35 years will bring. #EMILYTurns35
