After independence, #Buxar, which was established as an #industrial_hub in the state, has now become disorganized and a city surrounded by basic problems like road and electricity and water. The industries established here were closed one by one.

The last Tara Dumraon cotton mill,flickering as the industrial identity of the area, is also closed for two yearsThe names of lantern factory and Suta Mill etc. in Dumraon rstill mentioned in the books of general knowledge but, These industries r no longer here on the ground. 3/n
Suprabhat steel factory, which has been counted as a big industry in the area, has also disappeared.

Lanterns manufactured in Dumraon were supplied all over the country. The Lantern Factory closed in 1988.

Marhaura was the industrialhub of Saran in the 1980s
Marhowrah boasted of four factories of national fame -
Kanpur Sugar Works,Morton Confectionary,Saran Distillery &Saran Engineering Works.

BWEL was the largest rail wagon manufacturer in India
Bharat Wagon Workshop Plant in Muzaffarpur and the second unit is in Mokama

It was the one of the biggest industry in Bihar.
In Dalmia factory Around 30,000 workers used to work, Company closed down in 1990 due to poor law and order situation and other factors.
