I feel like making a #PETA expose thread. Whenever you see them post their self-congratulatory articles that they themselves wrote and published, link this thread in response. PETA kills animals, spreads lies, harasses people, and supports eco-terrorism. Keep reading.
PETA have been caught kidnapping animals from homes and yards when they thought nobody was looking. The only reason this family got justice is because they had a security camera to prove that it was PETA who stole their dog: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/17/peta-sorry-for-taking-girls-dog-putting-it-down
PETA kills so many animals at their "shelters" that it appalled lawmakers in Virginia and led to a nearly unanimous passing of a law that defined animal shelters as places whose primary mission was to find new homes for animals, not kill them. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/religion/at-petas-shelter-most-animals-are-put-down-peta-calls-them-mercy-killings/2015/03/12/e84e9af2-c8fa-11e4-bea5-b893e7ac3fb3_story.html
PETA dressed up as the KKK for one protest. They are even shameless about it and see no problem with using white supremacy to preach to us about animals. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2009/feb/12/race-animal-welfare
In 2011, PETA - yes, the same PETA that preaches "killing animals kills us all" - killed 96% of the animals that they brought into their facilities. PETA used to try to hide this from the general public, but have since rebranded it to "mercy killings." https://www.huffpost.com/entry/peta-kills-puppies-kittens_b_2979220
PETA constantly harasses researchers, and even encouraged the direct, targeted harassment (and subsequent doxxing) of researcher Christine Lattin right here on Twitter (cc @TwitterSupport @Twitter @Jack). https://speakingofresearch.com/2017/09/07/say-no-to-the-harassment-of-christine-lattin-by-peta-activists/
Here's a second source talking about that same harassment. https://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/peta-harasses-scientist-for-trying-to-save-birds/
PETA once claimed that drinking milk is linked to Autism. I'm not making this up. https://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/this-peta-advert-linking-milk-to-autism-has-caused-outrage-for-obvious-reasons/
PETA (predictably) opposed the hunting of an invasive species of Python because it was "being killed the wrong way" (which it wasn't). They claim to be experts yet don't know that a snake corpse will writhe for hours because of all the nerves. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/florida-must-kill-its-invasive-pythons-but-peta-says-theyre-being-killed-the-wrong-way
PETA supports terrorism. In 1995, they contributed $70,200 to Rodney Coronado, a convicted arsonist connected with the Earth Liberation Front (ELF). Images are pages from their 1995 Tax Return. ( https://web.archive.org/web/20150423164013/http://www.animalscam.com/references/peta_rodney1.cfm and https://web.archive.org/web/20080903225845/http:/www.animalscam.com:80/references/peta_rodney2.cfm)
They've also contributed money to eco terrorist organizations Earth Liberation Front (ELF) and Animal Liberation Front (ALF): https://nypost.com/2002/03/07/the-peta-elf-connection/
In fact, PETA has quite a history of extremist views. https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/people-for-the-ethical-treatment-of-animals-peta/
The Activist Facts profile for PETA tells you everything that PETA doesn't want to tell you: https://www.activistfacts.com/organizations/21-people-for-the-ethical-treatment-of-animals/
I'll probably write an article compiling all this information, complete with images and archived links (so that we don't run into the problem of sites disappearing). If I do, I'll link it in this thread.
